Thomas and Rosella Day Scholarship

Max Day served in the Army from 1942-1946 and was the Carleton postmaster from 1949-1975. He was the only child of parents Thomas and Rosella Day, who were married in 1899. The family moved from Detroit to Carleton in 1931. With the passing of Rosella in 1960, Max would organize a reunion at Monroe Country Club for friends of his mother. This would occur for nearly 40 years until the passing of Max Day in March 2000. With Max’s generous donation to Airport Community Schools, the Thomas and Rosella Day Scholarship endowment was created through the Community Foundation of Monroe County. Thanks to Max Day, as his generous endowment has and will continue to support Airport scholarships in memory of his parents, Thomas and Rosella Day.
