The Deer Camp Dinner Scholarship was established in 2022, after the Airport Community Schools Foundation joined the Airport Baseball Program to offer the annual Airport Baseball “Deer Camp” Dinner fundraising program. The scholarship was created in appreciation of our Deer Camp donors, attendees and volunteers.
The initial Airport Baseball “Deer Camp” Dinner began in 2002 by then-Coach Bob Jones and his wife, Kathy. Under Bob’s leadership and with community support, this fundraising event helped excel the Airport Baseball Program and fund numerous facility projects.
This continued until 2015, when Coach John VanWasshenova and his wife, Jill, began hosting the Deer Camp Dinner and coordinating upgrades to the baseball complex.
