Deer Camp Dinner Scholarship

The initial Airport Baseball “Deer Camp” Dinner was started in 2002 by coach Bob Jones and his wife, Cathy. Under Bob’s leadership and with the community helping, this 2002 –
2014 fundraising event helped excel our baseball program and the numerous baseball
facility projects. From 2015 – 2023, when Coach John VanWasshenova and his wife Jill
started hosting the Deer Camp Dinner and the continuation of program costs
and upgrades to our baseball complex. Starting in 2024, new head coach Jeff Goins
and his wife Becky began hosting this fundraising event. In 2022, the Airport
Community Schools Foundation (ACSF) started to assist the baseball program with this
fundraiser and the enormous amount of work needed to hold such an event. This
working relationship is very beneficial to both groups.

In appreciation of our Deer Camp Dinner donors, attendees and workers, ACSF will be
offering the “Deer Camp Dinner Scholarship.”
