
In 2016, community members formed “The Friends of the South Rockwood Library” to help promote a growing interest in and use of the library, stimulate and enrich the services of the library, sponsor programs for all ages, and acquaint the community with the needs of the library. With great support from the community as well as dedicated volunteers, Friends of the South Rockwood Library would like to expand their community outreach by providing scholarship opportunities for our Airport Graduates.
Award: $500 scholarship (non-renewable)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Airport Community High School Senior.
- Must have attended Ritter Elementary.
- Plans to attend an accredited college, university or trade school.
Application instructions:
- Write a 400-word essay with the following criteria:
- 300 words on “How can public libraries bridge education divides in communities for teens / young adults”
- 100 words on years attended at Ritter Elementary and your fondest memory
- Utilize Google Form scholarship application: https://forms.gle/yLsHHKZdCNUbqWnGA
- Submit form by February 21, 2026
- Recipient is expected to attend Blue & Gold Banquet.
